This philosophy relies on trained instructors to teach you practical skills and to give you practical tools to relax and calm your mind and body before, during and after birth. A Note for Mothers New to HypnoBirthing®
As the term “Hypno” can be misleading for some people, perhaps it is best to start with what HypnoBirthing® is NOT. HypnoBirthing is NOT about someone doing something to you in order to alter your state of mind. No one is going to “Hypnotize” you. HypnoBirthing is not about you losing control of yourself, but rather a way for you to stay in control during your birth. The term “Hypno” in HypnoBirthing merely refers to you being in a deep state of self-induced relaxation.
HypnoBirthing is a means for you to stay calm and in control of your thoughts and your body during birthing. This philosophy is about replacing anxiety and fear with confidence and relaxation and recognizing that your body was made to birth your baby. It is all about you learning to relax your birthing muscles, to breathe peacefully and to stay focused and calm during birthing. You will be learning why your body naturally does what it does, as well as how.
The Mongan Method
Mongan Method HypnoBirthing® is a simple, straightforward program, thoughtfully developed over the years to remind mothers of the simplicity of birth itself. Just as the majority of birthing women do not need interventions and procedures for safe and healthy birth, they do not need a complex set of exercises and scripts to prepare themselves for peaceful, calm and comfortable birthing.
